100% Recyclable Plastic Bottles – Key role for Efficient Microbes

Modern living has driven the desire for convenience. This has given rise to all sorts of products that could not exist without packaging. But once it’s performed its function, packaging takes on an entirely different face: it becomes cumbersome waste. By not considering the impact of packaging on the waste stream, the ugly and unwanted perception people have of packaging will continue.

Efficient Microbes cares about sustainability and our impact on the environment. Have you considered recycling the plastic once the bottle is empty? There has been such a massive emphasis around plastic bottles and their impact on the environment and as a company who focuses on how we effect the environment we can assure you that our products are recyclable and environmentally friendly.

Efficient Microbes bottles are made of PET, a very versatile and sophisticated plastic called Polyethylene Terephthalate. PET can be “recycled” to reuse the material out of which they are made and to reduce the amount of waste going into landfills. If you look on the base of our bottles, you will see the recycle symbol printed. This is the symbol indicating the material used is PET and our bottles are fully recyclable.

PET is used as a raw material for making packaging materials such as bottles and containers for packaging a wide range of food products and other consumer goods. PET plastic is 100% recyclable and when reprocessed it is turned into many new and useful products, like fibre-fill for duvets and pillows, PET trays for fruit, geotextiles, and even brand new bottles. Products made of #1 (PET) plastic should be recycled but not reused.

PET bottles

PET is globally recognised as a safe, recyclable packaging material for food and non-food products. PET packaging is selected for a wide variety of applications because it is safe, strong, shatterproof and chemically 100% recyclable into the same PET products (fibre and bottles). Recycling PET bottles over the last ten years has saved a total of 651 000 tons of carbon, avoided using 2.7 million m3 of landfill space and reduced resource consumption.

We are often asked why do we use plastic bottles, but you can rest assured our bottles are 100% recyclable and it makes better sense from both an environmental and economic perspective to capture the raw material and energy contained in a plastic bottle. PET is too valuable to be thrown away, so we ask you to do one thing: recycle. When recyclable materials, like PET, are sent to landfill, they become completely useless. Keep them out of the waste stream by recycling them. Check for local NGOs, schools and shopping centre that offer recycling. We encourage everyone to recycle Efficient Microbes PET bottles.
